My husband Daryl Gray and I made our home in the community of Bayswater more than 22 years ago.

In September, 2011 I retired from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) after a 31-year career. As a senior executive at CBC, I had to balance budgets and be wise with taxpayer’s money.

I was also a television reporter and producer of radio programs such as Maritime Noon which gave me an understanding of many of the issues we face in rural Nova Scotia, including our constituency of Chester-St. Margaret’s.

During my time at CBC I developed a love of politics. I met political leaders at all levels in different parts of Canada. After meeting Jamie Baillie, the leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia, I was impressed with his credentials and ideas. That led me to join the party as a volunteer. NOW I WANT TO DO MORE.

With my background and experience I believe I can be a strong advocate for the residents of our constituency Chester-St. Margaret’s by being a member of a Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative government.

And you can read a speech I gave to the PC Women's Caucus about my journey from journalism to politics in the March, 2013 blog archive under PC Women's Caucus.
