On Saturday, July 28th the 30th Annual World Tuna Flat Races were held in Hubbards. I volunteered at the registration desk but was soon asked to join a team competing in the races. We were called 'Da Babes'. My teammates were Gail Dominey, Sarah Archer and Joanne Allen-MacDonald. After finishing second in our heat we qualified for the final race in boat #2. That's me with the single paddle steering and pulling for all my worth. It was a close race but WE WON! Not quite the London Olympics but we felt like we'd won a gold medal. A great team effort and a great summer day in beautiful Hubbards.

The Big Ex Parade
I had the opportunity to participate in the South Shore Exhibition parade July 25th in Bridgewater. I joined PC Leader Jamie Baillie and Lunenburg-West candidate David Mitchell as we greeted hundreds of people along the parade route. The weather was perfect and the crowd receptive to all three of us. It was a great opportunity to talk to Nova Scotians and for the crowd to see first hand some of the strong team Jamie Baillie is putting together to bring the Progressive Conservative Party back to power in the next election. Thanks to everyone for coming out.
